First Jupiter Video and Photo Aug 19th 2012

Well I finally got out Saturday night and grabbed a short video of Jupiter. A tree limb was visible in the video but the photo still came out decent for a first attempt.

Upcoming Projects: Jupiter Imaging, Moon Mapping and more…

I will be getting ready for some new projects soon. Jupiter is up in the morning and should be visible in my location. The only issue is getting up that early! I plan to do some video imaging of Jupiter and will create my first photos using the Nexstar 5SE.

I have also decided to do some moon mapping and will try some imaging using video and stacking with Registax. I have also picked a couple of DSO’s and will see about getting a good polar alignment with the scope. Stay tuned!
